FAQ

  • Do I have to book a camping area? Yes, North West Zone is prefered, Comboyuro Point Zone 2nd. BOOK HERE.
  • Do I need to obtain a vehicle permit? Yes, you can get a vehicle permit HERE
  • Where will the caravan be located? See our page on where we camp.
  • Is linen provided? Yes, bath towels, sheets, doonas and pillows are provided.
  • Do I have to empty the chemical toilet? No, it’s all included.
  • Do I need to book the barge? Yes, make sure you can get on the barge before booking a caravan. Ferry link HERE
  • How will I know where I’ll be camping? We will notify you when it gets closer to your booked dates and meet you onsite. 
  • Do I have to worry about topping up water in the van? No, we check water every 2-3 days and same with toilet.
  • Do I have to worry about power? Yes and no, we will give you an idea of how to manage power usage. when you arrive.
  • What happens if it rains and we get no solar? We provide a 240 volt super quiet generator if needed for charging batteries. We look after all that.
  • Do I need to worry about gas? No, we check all this every 2-3 days.
  • What happens if something is not working? Just let us know and we will try and fix it. Remember we are on an island and if something does go wrong it can take longer to get an expert over.
  • Can I put bait in the fridge? No, absolutely not, use an esky if you can.
  • What is your cancelation policy? Peak times we give you 2 months to notify us, after that you lose your booking payment. Off peak times we give you 1 month to notify us, after that you lose your booking payment. May seem harsh, but we are governed by barge availability. More information at our terms and conditions.
  • What payments do you take? We take credit card.
  • Do I need to worry about mosquitoes or sand flies? Yes and no, we do get mosquitoes and occasionally the odd sand fly. The van is fully screened for both. 
  • Is there an ambulance on the island? Yes, but it wouldn’t hurt to bring a basic first aid kit.
  • Is it safe to swim where we are located? Absolutely, you will have the best clear pristine water you will see anywhere. As always, common sense is always key to safety.
  • Can I just bring my boat over only? Yes, if you do, make sure you have a very long anchor chain connected to your anchor as it can get very rough on the western side of the island at times.  Other option is to pull it out of the water till you go home. We may be able to help with that. 
  • What items do I need to bring? Food, drinking water, salt, pepper, sauces, cooking oil,  dishwashing liquid, sponges, beach towels, small first aid kit, toilet paper, paper towels, toiletries, matches and firewood ( can buy off us if needed).
  • Is there mobile phone reception where we camp? Yes, only with Telstra, Optus signal is poor and unreliable.  
  • I see the vans come with a 95 litre fridge freezer, how can I store my food if staying longer than a week? No problems, we have large additional fridge freezers available to hire located at our storage sheds for any overflow of food and drinks.
